Our story
From a Canterbury farm to practical farming technology.
Frizzell was founded by Alastair Frizzell after decades of farming and solving practical challenges on the family's Canterbury property. What began as a search for better ways to manage irrigation, water supply, and farm operations evolved into a business developing technology solutions for farmers across New Zealand.
Today the business remains based on the family property, where many products continue to be tested and refined in real farming conditions.

Founder
Alastair Frizzell
After more than 40 years farming in Canterbury, Alastair founded Frizzell to develop practical solutions to challenges he experienced firsthand. His background in farming, irrigation, livestock management, and engineering continues to shape the products and advice provided to customers today.
General Manager
Hamish Frizzell
Hamish grew up on the family farm before studying business and computing and building a career in technology across New Zealand, Australia, and the United States. Over more than 20 years he held technical leadership roles supporting enterprise software platforms used by organizations around the world. Returning to New Zealand in 2026, Hamish joined Frizzell as General Manager with a focus on combining practical farming experience with modern technology, data, customer support, and business growth.
